TaxisVerts is going to modernise the Collecto mobile application. The aim is to regain the same level of usage as before the COVID crisis.
Launched in 2008 by the Brussels-Capital Region, Collecto is a low-cost night-time shared taxi service for safe travel in Brussels. While the STIB's public transport services are not operational at night, it is now possible to share a journey in a taxi. All you have to do is go to one of the 200 STIB stops in the Collecto network and book your journey via a mobile application.

Prior to the health crisis, Collecto had a strong following, particularly among night-shift workers (nurses, catering staff, etc.) and young people looking for an inexpensive way to get home from a night out - in this case, 6 euros per person, whatever the length of the journey. At the time of the COVID crisis, health regulations did not allow several people to share a vehicle, and the service was put on hold for three years.
In the new app, night workers who regularly make the same journey will be able to save their favourite Collecto stops.

Collecto was reactivated last May. In the eyes of TaxisVerts, a subsidiary of the D'Ieteren Auto group, there is now work to be done to raise awareness of the existence and benefits of this service among the people of Brussels. TaxisVerts have therefore updated the mobile application. " We've added the Payconiq option, which is now the most widely used payment method," says Michael Leidensdorf, Marketing Manager at TaxisVerts.
New features
He adds that a new, improved version of the app will be available in a few days' time. In addition to a new design, new features will gradually appear to facilitate use of the service. Night workers who regularly make the same journey will be able to save their favorite Collecto stops, while parents will be able to credit the accounts of their teenagers, who will be able to send promo codes to their friends.
